Women Who Crash Through Glass Ceilings!

As the world celebrates Women’s History during the month of March, powerful and successful women brought a message of empowerment and tips for success to women thinking about starting their own businesses and those who already have one.

Celebrities including ABC 7 Los Angeles Coleen Sullivan, R&B Singer Teedra Moses, Eric Lynn NBC the Voice, Lisa Renee Pitts from Straight outta Compton, Camila Banus Soap Star from Days of our Lives, are just a few of the recognizable names who attended the Women, Wealth, Warriors 9th Annual Luncheon. Over 200 women came out to celebrate each other, network with one another, and build friendships, and business relationships all while being inspired! The atmosphere in the room was so positive and uplifting, it was beyond encouraging to see a room full of women supporting one another!

I started the Women, Wealth, Warriors Luncheon after finding myself laid off from work following the 2008 economic downturn.

I worried about how I would be able to take care of myself and my kids. I decided creating my own business was the way to go and founded Offray Accounting and Bookkeeping Services, then later went on to establish Prestige Insurance and Financial Services. Both of her businesses are successful to date.

Entrepreneurship is the key to financial freedom for many women.

I know, because it’s helped me!  I am my own boss, I create my own hours, and I’m able to spend much more time with my kids and provide for them. Work Life Balance was important to me as a single mother of four children. I knew I had to create a life that allowed me to be a mother first and entrepreneurship was the only way to create the balance I desired. As an award-winning business woman I am inspired to share my story,  I have a passion for helping women and girls reach their dreams and achieve success. It is our duty in life to give back and empower others. “Each one should teach one”. As women, we must be an example to our young girls. No matter what the circumstances may be in life, we must let our girls know that success is always achievable.”

The celebrities and achievers speaking and performing at the event were all accomplished women and who have stared down major obstacles and won.

During the panel discussion we talked about the challenges women faced in business and shared how they overcame the hurdles, providing inspiration for other business owners. Besides the celebrities listed above, the luncheon also featured Keynote Speaker Georgia Zachary, President of Women of AT&T, cheese tea magnate Jenny Zheng, and fitness nutrition specialist Julia Morichelli. We heard from prolific jazz saxophonist Vaughn Fahie, world renowned DJ Miss Joy.

Natascha Hopkins, body double for Zoe Kravitz and Halle Berry, Renee Washington Assistant News Director at ABC7 among many other phenomenal women who have crashed glass ceilings as women in business. At the 9th Annual Women Wealth Warriors Luncheon I had the pleasure of honoring these phenomenal women with certificates of recognition from Vice Mayor John Kennedy, Congresswoman Judy Chu, Councilmember Tyrone Hampton, Assemblymember Chris Holden, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Senator Anthony Portantino for their accomplishments in business.
